Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) ripped into Tesla CEO Elon Musk Thursday night for his use of a private jet after the tech billionaire tweeted his disapproval of President Trump pulling out of the Paris Climate Accord.
quote:
Musk has come under fire previously for his liberal use of his private jet, which he upgraded last year from a Dassault Falcon 900 B to a Gulfstream G650 ER. It was reported in 2010 that Musk took private jets to Washington on at least 12 occasions over the course of two years to lobby the Department of Energy for a loan of $465 million, which Musk’s company Tesla was eventually granted.

Musk is responsible for more carbon emissions by himself than 1,000 normal people.

Speaking of musk. Does anybody have a problem that taxpayers are footing the bill on a $7500 credit for people that are buying $100k cars?

I have a friend that has put a deposit on a new Tesla coming out. Former gov't worker, wants all the free shite. Wife is a retired fund raiser for some do nothing green grant feel good institution. All they can talk about is the "rebate". Oh, and they drive a Leaf now. Powered by their solar panels, which aint a bad thing but you would think taxpayers should be paying them back for those also.
So, for the regular taxpayer that doesn't want one, shouldn't they be given a chance to vote on said credits?

Are you against the people who actually pay taxes getting some of it back?

I'm against the government subsidizing a luxury car industry.
I want everyone to keep more of their money, this just seems like the dumbest way possible to do so.

So, Musk can't WebEx or Skype like the rest of us? And he's gonna tell me what's best for the environment...pfft

If all you science denying bigots bought tesla cuckmobiles for 100k and stopped rolling coal then there would be enough carbon credits for the elolita muskspress to fly nonstop!

What, Elon Musk is a hypocrite? Water is wet?
And yes, I'm against all tax credits. The government shouldn't be in the business of giving tax credits to reward "encouraged" behaviors and or purchases.

How much "harmful emissions" do his rockets spew into atmosphere?!

First. Sales tax is local, the credit is federal.
Second, why should a Tesla be subsidized and not a Porsche?
Third, you still have the problem where a category of 6 figure car is being subsidized by taxpayers.

We should built a east to west coast high speed rail.
On top of the trump wall.
Hell we could even slap a few solar panels it and call in a environmental experiment. Liberals would be fine spending 50 billion dollars on some kind of environmental bullshite. It just so happens that the foundation of the project acts as a wall...
