Asik is cheaper to stretch if the Mavs want to operate with cap space. They pretty much only have the MLE to make roster additions as it currently stands. No doubt they'd try to trade him for cap space first and they'd have to have a FA better than Matthews lined up, but it's not as crazy as it first sounds.

I still can't believe Dallas went on tilt and upped his salary after he agreed to sign there because he was "loyal" throughout the Deandre Jordan fiasco.
