Yep.
When you're at least a person of interest in an investigation, law enforcement and state/fed prosecutors are most certainly not your friend as they are looking for anything to nail anyone on trumped up charges. They're on a hunt and any good looking game will do.
It would be supremely dumb not to lawyer up. Most people don't realize what is and what is not their right. And I have seen people blurt shite out that wasn't even relevant to the questions being asked simply out of nervousness. I've seen people refuse to answer even the most basic of questions, making themselves look guilty of something they probably didn't even do , out of sheer nervousness.
And you know what? I was 100% trained to take advantage of ALL OF THAT to solve crimes.
For example, how many people realize it's perfectly legal for a LEO to lie to them during an interview? I had a guy one time, I lied and told him his partner had already confessed and blamed everything on him. The guy broke down and told me everything. I didn't even know he HAD a partner. Just a guess and a good lie LOL. Perfectly legal. The guy should have asked for a lawyer.

I did. saw it on TV, and you know it has to be true if it's on TV.

I know other LEOs that tell me things like this. It's dead on for what they do.
