Yep that's why I said the OP should focus on a one shot out of the bunker and atleast having a putt for something for the next shot.
I am perfectly content with just getting out of the bunker. When I get out the bunker in one shot, I take that as a moral victory. I'll gladly take one shot out the sand two putt bogey or chip one putt bogey.

Best $20 I ever spent was given to an old guy at the practice range one day who offered to help me with hitting out of bunkers for $20.
I won't give you he whole lesson but the 3 biggest keys for me
1. When you set up have an open stance, before you swing lift up your back foot so you're standing with all your weight on the front side, keep your weight there throughout
2. Always swing aggressively with a full follow through (like you are hitting a full wedge.
3. Use the amount of sand you take control your distance, i.e. If you want to hit it shorter hit further behind the ball.
Obviously this isn't perfect and the more you practice the better you'll be, but I get it out the bunker onto the green near everytime now. I even holed out for a sandie a few weeks ago
