Some kids in a high school petitioned to change the date of the prom because some of their buds couldn't make it that night . . . . And this makes you angry? Why?
Repaintint the narrative already, or you just didn't read the article?
It wasn't "...some kids petitioning because some of their buds..." It was Muslim kids petitioning because they couldn't go....but they could. Sunset occurs at 9PM and that is when the dinner was being served. The prom starts at 7PM, so they would miss 2 hours. They would be there for the rest of the time.
Also, HubbaDubba made this list of reasons why you don't change at the last minute:
rebooking the site,
rebooking the caterer,
rebooking the band or DJ,
rebooking all the rented tuxes or prom dresses,
rebooking limousines,
rebooking security.
A school calendar is typically published before the school year begins. They should have made their wishes known long before May.

Ok. So the Muslim students petitioned to change the date of prom and the school said no. Why is there a thread bitching about it?

Good lord. They asked to change the date so they could enjoy prom. School denied it. Everyone is fine.

Well...

That's not what the article said. It said that a couple hundred kids petitioned because some of the Muslim students couldn't attend. There was nothing I saw which indicated that the petitioners were all Muslims. My kids have Muslim friends in school here in Lafayette. They would ask to move the prom under similar circumstances. Also, for similar reasons, it wouldn't be moved. You are making this a political issue, not these kids, who want everyone in the school to be able to attend.
But go ahead and spout your propaganda. That's all y'all want to do anyway.
