Of course we have the masses defending this. However when some minority group seeks some accommodations or whatever at a place that receives federal funds, this place goes bat shite crazy.

They are not seeking accommodations. They are seeking preferential treatment. No one needs accommodations made strictly because of their race. Unless you think that being of a certain race is a disability...
