No idea if true or not, but if so, that's the dumbest shite I've ever heard in my entire life. Literally. And I grew up in Tuscaloosa, so I've heard some dumb shite.

fwiw - my wife's family is from Tuscaloosa - we have an armoire from the late 1700's / early 1800's that she inherited in our bedroom
piece came from her family's farm in T county
