I've been on a fair number of group trips. Usually it's renting out a large beach house, so it's not really structured. Everyone wakes up when they want, goes to the beach when they want. Each family took a turn cooking for a night.

We also did a group trip to Vegas one time. We set aside 1 night as a group night. Made a huge deal about the plans, and they were great. The rest of the trip was open for each couple to decide what they want to do. Sometimes it's hard for my wife and I to agree what show we want to see. Multiply that by 10 couples with the variety that Vegas has to offer, and there's no way to make everyone happy planning every hour together.

I think the problem is.. When everyone starts talking about going and everyone is like "I want to go see _________" then someone else is like "yeah, we planned on going last time and never made it there, but I do want to go see it as well" then at the time they look up the times together and just sort of plan in the moment. Then when the time comes they all feel like they are stuck with those plans..

But like you said, the more couples included the more chaos there is so when its not bad when its just one other couple.

For some reason, I always think its funny when a wife tells her husband she doesn't want to do something, but expects him to speak up as if he is the one who doesn't want to do it..
