Honestly, I'm about done doing vacations with others. Everyone has their own style of vacationing, and you end up having to do shite you don't want to do.

You are right about this.. And people who you normally have no problem being around, after the trip, all of a sudden you feel like you need to be away from them for awhile.

There is a group of us who would get together on the weekends, play cards, watch games, etc. It's more like getting together with family than friends. We eventually started going somewhere once a year and the first time it was cool, there were a few disagreements but nothing that was a big deal.

But then it got to the point where some people wanted to spend more time here while other people wanted to spend more time there. I don't really plan with them as a group. I go on the trip and if there is something I want to do that they don't have interest in doing, I just tell them "ill catch up with yall later", but everyone ends up complaining to be about the other people. And I tell them all the same thing. "how hard is it to not do everything with each other?"

The last trip we took was to Vegas. They all made out pretty much planned it all out hour by hour. This time to this time we will do this. Whatever I had an interest in doing, that they planned, I got tickets for or would meet them at whatever time they were going to be there, but other than that, I just sort of "played it all by ear". If I was doing something I enjoyed, I didn't want to have to stop at a certain time because "it was the plan". Anyway, on the way to the airport and in the airport, I get to hear all of the complaints everyone had of each other.

This person wanted to go eat somewhere and they didn't really want to go and it turned out it wasn't good at all.

Someone wanted to go do something, but they didn't get a chance because everyone else wanted to go do something that wasn't interested to them. Again, I was like "how hard is it to just go do what the frick you want?".

Then when the trip is over, you get the full story from each person and they pretty much cause all of their "problems" themselves.

I've been on a fair number of group trips. Usually it's renting out a large beach house, so it's not really structured. Everyone wakes up when they want, goes to the beach when they want. Each family took a turn cooking for a night.

We also did a group trip to Vegas one time. We set aside 1 night as a group night. Made a huge deal about the plans, and they were great. The rest of the trip was open for each couple to decide what they want to do. Sometimes it's hard for my wife and I to agree what show we want to see. Multiply that by 10 couples with the variety that Vegas has to offer, and there's no way to make everyone happy planning every hour together.
