How could it be a robbery when nothing was stolen?

From the Op-Ed:

quote:

We also know that there were signs of a struggle, including a watchband torn when the assailants attempted to rip it off his wrist.

There's a shitload more evidence that Rich was the source to Wikileaks than the Russians were.

So. They struggled. Fought to get the watch. Shot him. Then left the watch?

Ok.

Well, there is a difference between robbery and attempted robbery.

Is that really any less plausible than the alternative?

Good point. However, why go to all that trouble, then leave the watch?

Judge Judy says it, and I believe it.
"If it doesn't make sense, it isn't true!"

(I don't really believe that, but it's a nice soundbite!)

Not really when you think about it.

If it was a robbery, why was nothing stolen?

If it was a hit, why was he alive when cops arrived?

Who is more likely to be bad at their job, a Hitman or a thief?

The alternative being that they struggled, shot him and took the watch?

He wouldn't be the first person to survive a hit.

And I am not saying this is what happened.

But the point is both arguments rely on the failure of the opposing possibility.

He also wouldn't have been the first victim of a failed robbery.

So, basically we are back to zero. Nothing earned and nothing gained.

Well, I've never murdered anyone. I can only assume they didn't want to risk being caught for a broken watch.

Essentially. Until more evidence comes out, I side with Occam's razor.

See above.

Most likely because it wasn't a hit.

A thief, clearly.
