Economic partnerships and influence in the region. Asia is a huge market, obviously, and those are two of our best partners in it.

Not to sidestep your question but NKorea has been a regional threat to SKorea and Japan since the end of the Korean War. Our interest in taking this regime out now is he is getting closer and closer to be able to threaten the US mainland with a nuclear missile strike or proliferate the technology to some other groups that would like to harm us.
