The Ford 6.2 gassers are very good, especially with the 4.30 gears. You gotta realize what you're getting though. It's a big heavy arse truck with low gears and a big, tuned down engine. It's going to drink the hell out of fuel and you'll have to put your foot in it to get 15k pounds moving, but it'll do it and it'll last a real long time doing it.
I sure as hell ain't moving 15k but that's good to know its worth a shite. I have a lot of digging to do. I live close to work and so long as I pay cash I don't mind shite fuel mileage as long as I'm not paying a note. I just remembering how much of a dog the 5.4 was in that platform
Thanks

The 6.2 is a far more capable engine in an HD truck than the 5.4 was. It still won't win any races but it does come with the same driveline you get behind the diesel, so it should all last forever (again, at the expense of horrible fuel mileage). The new 17's offer some awesome features for an HD truck and I'd be hard pressed to pass that up if I were in the market, even though the chevy 6.0 HD driveline is proven bulletproof.
