I was dragging the Brothers Karamazov around for like a couple of months and never was able to get into it for some reason. Will return to it for sure, as I know it's one of people's favorites. Crime & Punishment sucked me in, but BK did not this time.
I finally decided this week that it was time to put it away for now and select something else because I was getting no reading done, and War & Peace was next on my list. Boy oh boy, it has sucked me in. I love Tolstoy's writing style. Truly enjoying it.
This was a good lesson for me, as I have a ton of unread books. I think I get "reader's block" when I am hell-bent on reading a particular book and it doesn't click, and when that happens, I just end up reading nothing. Good to cut ties and return to it later if it doesn't click.
eta: have a Putin biography on audiobook that I'm like 3/4 of the way through. Would also recommend. It's called The New Tsar.
And during the day I've just started 12 Rules for Life, which I've always been meaning to read. Basically doing audiobook in the car, the beautiful Tolstoy at night, and a quick chapter of 12 Rules for Life during the day here and there.
