No. And where does it say he contacted the proper authorities to investigate?

There are enough disturbed people out there that it's possible. There are also enough pranksters out there that it wasn't a legitimate threat.

There are also enough people out there that would pretend to he on the other side and threaten him to make the other side look bad.

Conversely, There are more than enough politicians who lie, seek attention, and exploit opportunities that it could be made up too.

Do I think Al Green is telling the truth? Hell no, he lied like 10 times about being "back in gospel music to stay." Let's Stay Together" is still the bomb!

Yeah, me too.

Although I'm not sure why anyone would want to lynch The Rev.

I would like to do a trip like Diogenes in search of an honest Congressional Black Caucus member, wonder what sort of lamp you need for that?

Its Texas, so yes he is telling the truth. The part of Texas closest to the Old South is the worst.

He was grandstanding with the call for impeachment. Unfortunately now expect it to be used whenever we get the next democratic president as retaliation as a political move.

He has received voicemails with death threats to his congressional offices

I actually believe this might have happened. What he isn't saying is that they came from his own constituency.

Any and all of these are true.

The threat of lynching is so lame. Hell, it's like saying "I'm going to draw and quarter you." No one is gonna go to that much trouble. Now, if someone said "I'm gonna key your BMW" that sounds like a real threat.

In fairness, there are enough nutcases that it COULD be true. But nothing any sane person would take seriously.

He played the recordings at the town hall. What's not to believe? I could read a comment in any thread on this board and know that it's true.
