Are you offended by them because you were told be?

Offended? Of course not. I don't care about slavery or states' rights or anything they were fighting for. The fact is they were traitors and they fought against the United States. They shouldn't be honored with statues in our streets.

I'm all for preserving history, but that shite belongs in a museum. Just like I fully support having a holocaust museum, but I don't think we should erect a statue of Hitler in the streets. But I guess that makes me a cuck snowflake libtard, or whatever other childish names you stole from 4chan.

Then neither should Washington, Jefferson, or Franklin

They were given their citizenship back, dumbass. If the US doesn't hold a grudge, why should you?

They wanted to peacefully leave, and weren't allowed to

And be careful in your reply, otherwise you will have to admit that Washington, Jefferson, Franklin, etc. were also traitors to the authority that once governed our land

As unpopular as it is, I agree with this as well. I consider myself an American first so I don't support those who were fighting against the US.

With that said, I have never once heard anyone make a big deal over the monuments, but then all of a sudden it becomes an issue. That's what I have a problem with. Its obvious Landrieu has his own agenda and while he is trying to benefit from doing this, he is dividing the city.

Love him or hate him, he is a good politician so he is aware of what actions will hurt or help him... In the end, he will end up being the only person who really gains something by doing this.. A smart politician will use the power he/she has to do things that will benefit them once they are no longer able to have the position they are in.
