it sure does. Old FKing earns $600,000.00 annually.

Which would put him way outside the Top 50 for university system Presidents. He's also responsible for more than just LSU-BR too. (I don't even like F King, but he's not being paid a lot for what the job market is)

So I guess the "flagship university" never has to go without? It gets fully funded no matter what, eh? frick that. Soon as they learn to live within their means, they can do whatever they want. You sound like the typical civil service/govt. worker. You have no idea of doing with less at the university level. But you are fine with telling the taxpayer who is forever adjusting their budget to live within their means that they have to pay for your shite.

Uh, exactly. I desire excellence in all ways from LSU and that includes giving the university all it needs to improve. I don't like that my degree is being de-valued.

If lack of revenue is the problem, then they should consolidate universities so that they can have 10 better universities instead of the 14(?) we have now. Will never feel guilty about wanting to support higher education in a poorly educated state.

you surely understand the goal of I and most others is to grow our own bank accounts and provide for our families and improve ourselves, right?

So then you can empathize with the goal of improving what you're responsible for. Glad we're all on the page.

yes well, freezing new car purchases, not replacing old appliances or lawn mowers, and cutting vacations and spending on clothes, groceries, nights out, etc. are where we the public are having to make cuts. And it sucks for us as well.
And yet you and every other public official tell me its not enough. Too bad. Learn to live with it. I can't afford LSU being the flagship anymore and neither can Louisiana apparently.

This is obviously the case. I just don't wish for the university to continue to flounder and half of its buildings decay while other schools are able to avoid that.

Lack of revenue isn't the problem though. Shitty leadership and wasteful spending are the problems
