Hiding under my desk during civil defense drills
Thinking I would be a quick goner - lived ~90 miles from SAC HQ
My dad drove for the secret service in Paris when Ike and Krushchev were negotiating the Powers issue - he has some awesome stories
After I was in the military at the end of the cold war I got to see the wall come down. Funny part is the E/W Germany reunification was somewhat accidental. A gate guard fricked up on the East side.
It was interesting to say the least
