except they ignore the specifics of what the mad scientist was up to and the house of horrors isn't very scary and they ditch it for a ridiculous space ship fight and then a 10 minute knockoff of the original alien

Movie sucks and Prometheus is way better. Instead of more character motivation we're given less. Instead of a more concise script that makes the rules (horror movies need rules) clear they just ignore it entirely.
