Aside from following the prospects like others said, taking pleasure in young guys or underrated/scrap heap guys that get called up and exceed expectations.
Keuchel for instance was viewed as back of the rotation guy and was pretty pedestrian in 2012/2013.
Watching him on 2014 when the Astros still sucked was awesome and now he's at the top of their rotation as contenders. Marwin Gonzalez is another example, viewed as a stopgap utility guy and now he's an extremely important part of this team. It's neat to see what guys get to do with an opportunity they might not have received elsewhere

Also most of the city couldn't even watch the games
