What? At third less than 2 outs ball hit in the air you go back to the bag. Do you really think the third base coach has time to tell him what to do in that situation in the 3 seconds it takes from ball hitting bat to ball hitting ground? Plays like that are discussed before the pitch. Watson did the right thing and he scored. You guys get ridiculous when it comes to wanting to blame the coaches.

You have no clue, I've coached enough third base to know that you can.
You judge the ball in flight and say part way and the runner drifts off the bag.
Routine play really. Immediately tag on a ball in the air and drift up the line if it's shallow in case it falls in.
