The Cubs (14-12) and Phillies continue their series tonight from Wrigley. Split so far. Jake Arrieta (3-1, 4.66) gets the ball for Chicago. Jerad Eickhoff (0-2, 3.56) for Philly. Go Cubs Go!

Should we just start the scoring at 2-0 Phillies? Nevertheless, the cubbies take the rubber match.

Damn, haven't even played 2 games and they're probably down 4-0 already

ETA: Javy earned the start with that beastly performance last night.

It definitely has been the trend and Jake has really gotten raked the first inning of his last two starts.

I don't know what you do if you are Bosio and Joe, these are veteran guys with skins on the wall struggling to get out the gate.

Maybe we should start Junior the first inning, dudes only given up 2 hits all year.

Cubs have no chance at repeating with this rotation. All their guys have regressed and have lower velocities.

When was the last time we didn't give up a 1st inning run?

I know it's harsh and I wish it weren't that way but that's the way it is for at least right now. I can still see a repeat because the top 3 of the rotation can be so good but dipping into the farm for trades is going to have to happen imo. Hopefully someone can be had for prospects other than happ and eloy.

No i didnt think it was harsh at all.

I was remarking on the spot on accuracy

It was 2-0 pretty much right out of the box tonight

it's not too good a sign if it's that easy to predict. Hopefully it's just an extended WS hangover

All i will say is Willson is lucky that ball hit the mound or he's out by 15 feet

I guess it was lucky, but it was also a very shitty throw from 150 feet away.

I'm off to Chicago tomorrow! Catching the Friday/Saturday games against the Yankees.

Hopefully we lay a beat down on them. Gonna be pretty chilly
