Chi came out of high school with a ton of physical tools his leaping ability is excellent his speed is above average, but I don't feel that he worked at his craft while he was in college.
If you look at his draft report it exactly sums up his abilities. It also gives you a window into his glaring weaknesses. It comments on Route running that is sloppy tipping his hands on his routes so the DB's can jump his route, playing small for his size. All of were evident while he was at LSU period when he would go up for a catch he would jump backwards instead of vertically and high-pointing the ball. He consistently had trouble actually getting open because he did not work at his route-running. All these things coupled with the fact that he had way too many drops have caused him to slide. I'm wondering if teams are also questioning his work ethic due to this. I mean it is summed up in his first play from scrimmage with the quarterback change to Etling, with a ball hit him right in the hands and he dropped it.
I guess this is the ultimate example of the fact that you actually have to put in work even though you can be a physical freak
