You may have been attempting a joke, and obviously we don't have the sheer quantity to compete with NYC or Chicago, but Birmingham is actually an underrated food city. We have a couple world class chefs and a few world class restaurants to go along with them. And the scene just keeps growing and getting better every year.

If this was just about the South instead of the whole country then we'd deserve a mention.

Nikki's West was the Fire when I tried it. So was Sneaky Pete's and Golden Rule BBQ.

I'm not joking dude. I go to Birmingham twice a year because I have family that moved down there from Missouri. Saw's is tGOAT BBQ. I love the one in homewood because they have ribs. I also love post office pies for Pizza. I always order a swine pie when I visit there. Daves is solid for a Pizza option too. I know Birmingham better than you think.
