Wraps do protect hulls well. I've seen them come off boats after years, and the gelcoat still looked brand new. Personally, if I guided, I'd never wrap my boat. A lot of inshore fishermen bird dog the hell out of wrapped boats.

That would be the only reason i'd wrap my Ranger. Some of the shite we fish down here, when it drags across the side of the boat while trying to get somewhere, makes me want to cry.
I wouldn't even need any extra incentive. Wrap my boat and i'll advertise the frick out of your company
