It is insane that we expect health insurance to function any differently from other types of insurance. In the old days when I got my first job my dad instilled in me the importance of having no lapse in health coverage for the rest of my life (after I got off his plan).....simply because if you got a long term illness when you weren't covered you were financially screwed. I'm not sure why we can't change our culture back to that mindset....instead of the mindset of "oh hell now I need to go to the doctor I guess I better get insurance again"...it's dumb.

It's just like any other entitlement....we can't even talk about that with the lefties.
