Question: if traded to saints and we have a long term deal for butler, is that an extension off of signed 1 yr tender deal?

No. He would get a whole new contract. RFA tender is only for Patriots.

Didn't look at page 3 yet but TB is sort of correct.
It can honestly go either way. They can leave this year alone (but the pro rated signing bonus gets added) or they basically "rip it up" and start over.
I think it'll settle around the $4-5 mil mark for this year's cap hit either way.
