So they didn't take into account common sense measures?
Next time I'm sure they'll have the foresight to predict a SCOTUS challenge and result, and the Republican party choosing to obstruct rather than govern.
They won't make the same mistake for single-payor, sure.

So they were wrong. It's expensive and awful. I agree.

just were never the amount of healthy people needed to make it work.
Because we're wising up and realizing we can pay for our entire years medical cost with one months premium.

The ACA is a success, and would be a huge success if Republicans would stop obstructing it at every turn.
This is not opinion, it is fact.
Those are facts. Want another?
You bitch about Republicans not supporting a law they fought, and were TOLD by the Democrats their opinions were not needed.
Put some salt on that fact and chew on it.

The lack of payments in place to cover for miscalculated costs are the reason for the miscalculated costs?
Some of your best work.

i dont think healthcare can be for-profit and work with covering all preexisting conditions. it just doesnt make any sense.

I'm sure that's why premiums are increasing at the slowest rate in 50 years and the uninsured rate has dropped into the single digits, all while reducing readmissions and hai's.

Well you are a moron, so I should excuse your lack of foresight.

I do - you should read up on previous threads we've had on the subject. Might help you understand the basics.

Piss poor foresight, planning, and political tone deafness were always the reasons it was gong to fail. That's on the govt that created it.
Why would you assume a national expansion of something the feds have absolutely no control over (poor planning)? How could you NOT expect a judicial challenge on a bill that required rule changes to pass it with no minority party support (piss poor foresight)?
The ship was poorly built from the beginning, and your blaming the people that refused to ride on it for its sinking (political tone deafness).
But you're sinking with that ship, and playing the same tune all the way to the bottom.

Thanks for making my point for me, Scooter. They predicted the premiums of an average family would GO DOWN by $2500.
Not up. DOWN by $2500.

Whether large insurance companies could profit off of the ACA is a poor indicator of success - especially when the small insurance companies are doing great.

They're not.

Might want to look up what we're talking about here before you pretend like you understand it, because you clearly don't.
edit: hint - look to the recent success in Alaska.

but I'm convinced that whoever helped write Obama care from the major insurers miscalculated the costs of providing the Obamacare plans.
Not exactly, Obama had them over a barrel, it was this or single payer.
Guess how many insurance companies will survive single payer in their current form? ZERO

My wife's premium skyrocketing from $220 per month to $965 per month once she lost her dependent spousal coverage is all the understanding I can withstand.
