Well, gentlemen, i went to 2 o'clock bayou today. Didnt catch anything. Threw a ton of soft baits, a couple spinner baits, and a crank bait. Mostly threw at trees, cypress knees, grass, and about 10-15ft off the bank in some places, and right off the banks in other places. No bass bites. It would be a good place to catch some pan fish tho, as we had a bunch of those nibbling our lures every once in a while. Beautiful area, though. Ton of large cypress trees to fish, just gotta find the bass. I will be going back there. But not until after i try out a couple other places mentioned in this thread. We launched around 3pm and left around 7pm. I didnt want to be out there after dark, not being familiar with the area.

It called 2 o'clock bayou for a reason,
You were late!

Like with any place, takes a little figuring out. I want to try to get to Little Alabama as soon as I can. But who knows when that will be.
ETA: How did the water look? Any other boats out there? Free launch?

That will probably be my next spot, there or Half Moon. I'll probably go to Little Alabama on a weekend rather than after work, just bc its about 45 mins from home.
Eta:
Water was calm, not muddy, partially dyed (is that a thing?), I guess youd say. We threw all colors. We just didnt find them today. Next time I'm going further out. It started drizzling 6:15 or so, and looked like more rain coming so we didnt go quite as far down as I would have liked. I didnt want to get caught in a shite storm.
We saw three other boats out there, and the launch is decent, theres a box w a sign that says to write your license plate number on a piece of paper (provided) and put $3 with it in an envelope (provided) then stick it in a slotted box. Those who dont will be towed.
ETA: I meant Partially stained lol

I usually just say stained. If the water is dark but has good visibility, then its tannic. Typical in water with a bunch of trees in them.

Did you see any of them catching?

Talked to one guy, he had one bream on crickets. Didn't talk to one boat, and the other was a mom and dad with two small kids, looked like they were bream fishing, but we didnt speak with them either.
And tannic sounds about right. Pretty decent visibility but still kinda dark.
Let me know if you make a trip out there. I'd like to know how someone with more experience does.

From what I've heard about most of the places mentioned in this thread, they can be hit and miss sometimes. I bookmarked this thread so I can update it when I actually get to go fish some of them.

I have never caught anything in 2 o clock bayou. I am going to try and hit big Alabama next week during the week.

Pass up big for lil alabama. I have t been in a while but we've never been there and not boated at least 10-15 bass. I've never caught over 3 lbs but saw a 9lb hog caught 2 trees down from the launch.

Where is little Alabama compared to big?

Like 100 feet away

Gotcha. Is there another launch closer to I-10? If that is the only launch is it quicker to go on 190 then head south or go on I-10 then head north? Thanks.

That's the only launch I'm aware of for Little Alabama. I live north of I-10, so for me it would probably be quicker to go to 190. Depends where you are coming from I guess.

Let us know where you end up going and how you do. I think we are all pretty curious about most of these places.

Will do. Gotta go spend some money and get some new rods and reels.

I'm gonna take my GoPro out there and see if I can get some good action. I'll try to give a really thorough report with pictures and video.

When are you going?
Posted on 4/19/17 at 12:08 pm to Janky
As soon as possible. Still trying to work that out.

Roger, if I wasn't leaving for Austin tomorrow I would go on Friday.
On a side not, UPS just dropped off my new trolling motor.
