Clearly, it is very different, are you kidding? #1.Barry, was the POTUS at the time of that tape and had every right to negotiate with a foreign power. Yeah, it's not 100% upfront, but it's not illegal. #2.This current story seems ridiculous, but following the argument, allegedly the exchange in question would ultimately result in the Russians agreeing to manipulate the U.S. elections so that Donald Duck could win.
No argument can equate what Barrack did to what Donald allegedly did. Trump was allegedly trying to use a hostile power to manipulate an election and Obama was simply negotiating as POTUS. They are so far apart from each other they are not even close.
This is what is wrong with this country, people, and it seems especially Republicans, are so colored by their political leanings they no longer care about truth. Your argument is a good example, but here is an even better one.
Percentage who supported bombing Syria:
Year | dem | GOP
2013 | 37% | 22%
2017 | 38% | 86%
The only difference between 2013 and 2017 was the president at the time. Dems felt pretty much the same way no matter who was president, whereas the GOP, a different story. I was an independent up until this year.
Now it is very clear who really cares about truth and who does not.

Re elected after his second term? That's quite a reach. Oh yeah, forgot this board was stating that Obama was gonna anoint himself king or some stupid shite.
