Personally, I'd like a good winter Christmas. Germany is one of the most beautiful countries I've been to and I think it would be amazing that time of year. It isn't bad that is was pretty affordable. I was thinking it would be along the lines of what I am paying for my London trip this week.

We are going to miss the markets but will probably take a Germany/Austria/Prague trip next winter.
If you're prepared for it, I just don't really mind winter vacations in Europe. Crowds are better and for tons of walking I'd prefer to freeze than sweat.
