Nolan Ryan

I don't know why people get on Clemens only.
Clemens rightfully so, was deemed ridiculous to be so good, better than a YOUNG CLEMENS!
Hello biology. Doesn't work like that. Clemens was faster. Ryan was faster and led the league in SO at age 44.
(yeah, I'm not buying that Bridge in Brooklyn.)

Testosterone is such an important hormone for men, and too much of it or too little of it can certainly have far-reaching effects.
Testosterone is truly a whole-body hormone with highly complex and comprehensive roles in the body. It bolsters muscle strength, energy, libido, lean muscle mass, mood and outlook, plus a range of other effects.
The “mid-life crisis” that affects men in their 40’s has never been well understood in medical terms. We now know that men go through hormonal changes in their middle years, just like women do. It’s been termed “andropause”, and it can be just as debilitating and emotionally challenging as menopause can be for women.
One is the 1-2% reduction each year from 20 years old of free testosterone. This is the testosterone that is “unbound” in the body, and therefore free to exert its effects. Research also shows that as men age, they convert more of their testosterone to estrogens.
So a man loses from 20-40% of their testosterone by age 40...and they are now a better athlete? A better and faster pitcher?
In what world is this possible but the pharmaceutical world?
Men used to die at 40 without modern help...your natural bio-chemistry and the power of testosterone goes filters out.
Ergo Rafael Palmeiro schlubing for Viagra at a younger age than Nolan Ryan.
Turns out that was also a lie, he didn't need it. He was getting testosterone shots.
