my uncle sang it at my PawPaw's funeral...not a dry eye in the whole church..subbed in the word "daddy" as he led into the chorus...

My Dad was an operatically trained baritone. One of the songs he was know for singing was "Ol' Man River" from the musical "Showboat". Not something you'd think about as a funeral song, but at his memorial my 18 y/o son played it as a tribute to my father. Lots of waterworks after this that night.

Check it out (and I'm STILL trying to figure out who put the beer on my piano! )

And pay special attention to my little LSU corner in the background--that's a framed, team-autographed 1986 Final Four jersey... )
