Bottom line, you can get a CIB for receiving indirect, or after an IED strike.


I have a buddy who was an MP. They pulled him for convoy security all the time. The convoy would get shot at or IED. He would return fire and all that. But he never got a CIB because he never took direct fire.

You have to be 11 series serving in a infantry unit to qualify for a CIB. Under those facts your MP buddy should have been give a CAB.

Yeah, think it was already answered, but must be an 11 series to earn the CIB.
