You stated that the insurance companies were regulated by the state...which is not entirely accurate...they are mostly regulated by a quasi state entity whose budget is mostly derived (in some instances wholly derived) from the industry itself....and therefore heavily influenced by the industry and its interests.
So I am moving the goal posts by asking you if insurance companies sold shitty policies (and still sale shitty policies)?

Not one single dimocratix ever mentioned anything about "shitty policies" prior to Obamacare being passed. On the contrary, Obama and y'all repeated over and over and over that "if you like your healthcare plan, you can keep your healthcare plan. PERIOD!"
The "shitty policy" narrative that popped up after Obamacare was rammed through was the very definition of "moving the goalposts."
