Like most things here..It is just a conversation. You probably won't believe this but I *do* more volunteer and professional work that benefits Vets than what I imagine most of the "thank you for your service" crowd does.
I am not anti-military nor does this particularly upset me. I just think it is a part of our culture that causes some harm. We can't have real and honest conversations about military spending, troop levels, or compensation because of this hero worship stuff...

I believe you. I don't think you are a lying scumbag.

We can have a conversation about being nice to vets and military spending. Why couldn't we?

However, this thread devolved from the professors faux outrage because he say someone be nice. Think about that. He's outraged because of a kind deed.

This thread didn't need to go beyond that.

I can't see how it harms anything or anyone. I can do what i want with my money and my possessions. (Or I should be able to.) Further, it is none of the professors business what the guy does with his seat.

I also think the reaction to his latest tweet is amplified by his earlier tweets. Further, I believe he is an attention hound that loves the attention he gets. People like that can't help themselves. When he quits getting attention he will up his game and cross the line for everybody....and he will be fired. then he can tell everybody how blatantly unfair it was.
