I have laid out and presented the reasoning why the gun industry, police forces, special forces have shyed away from safeties on striker fired handguns. You can continue to ignore the reasoning or not. I'm not going to continue this back and forth.

Timayy is right.

No offense, VaBamaMan, but you're off base on this one. Neither you nor any other "mere mortal" is gonna reflexively turn that switch off or on when someone attacks you from "out of nowhere." Especially if you carry it in different conditions of readiness at different times.

Situational awareness may/will help you get de-selected as a victim. But if you get distracted (kids, traffic, whatever), it may end up being your turn in the barrel. At that point you'll be needing more time & distance, not more tasks to perform.

p.s. I agree with taking safety measures to protect your kids. Nothing is more important. But for most of us, gun vaults and gun safes do a better job of that.
