And the reason most prefer nonsafety is because you cannot just turn it off so simply when you are unexpectedly needing to use your weapon to defend your life. The safeties are an unnecessary step with these kinds of guns and a step that could cost you time and ultimately your life if forgotten when under stress or accidently not engaged under stress. If you are turning off your safety going into a situation you know you need your gun. You should not be going into that situation.

Well duh. Generally speaking, I mean areas which are more likely to have more people.

Actually, I keep it off 75% of the time when I'm carrying. But if it's in the house, the safety's on. And if we're walking in our favorite park, which is in the middle of an extremely affluent and safe area, then the safety is on.
