Lol at waiting on 6 months. There's tons of kids that sleep through the night at 1 month, not a majority but a decent percentage.

Here are your potential issues in somewhat of an order of likeliness but not easiness to fix:
1.) you are whipped parents. Stop codling
2.) kid is not tired enough because of poor nap schedule
3.) kid is hungry. Some kids need real food at night, mix baby 'cereal' with formula
4.) kid has a physical problem like ear infection or stomach issue
5.) kid is hot/ cold. Make sure the temp is right in the room. Just because your wife likes it freezing cold to sleep doesn't mean kid does. Try changing around those wrap things and the type of night stuff they wear

All good advice: there's a checklist you go through, he might be a colicky baby, will definitely cause crying.

He's not trying to get the baby to sleep through the night. He's trying to break a co-sleeping habit and get the baby to sleep in it's own bed.

OP: did the baby sleep in a bassinet in your room prior or straight to your bed?
Have you tried swaddling the baby?
Or a white noise app?
