So you agree with the other poster that Miss St will "crush us" this year? That is what I was responding to.
Somehow Andy Cannizaro has become, on this board, the best college baseball coach ever born.
I was disappointed when he left to be HC at State, but he had the same amount of coaching experience when Mainieri hired him to be the hitting coach as Micah Gibbs did....none.
Put it another way, let's say Mainieri became Athletic Director and his first hire is to replace himself. He does so by hiring an assistant coach and that coach has only two years of coaching experience as a hitting coach and NO experience as a head coach anywhere.
Cannizaro might get it done at Miss St but just like I posted on here last year when Cohen hired him, it's a big gamble hiring someone with no head coaching experience to be head coach at an SEC school.

LSU baseball should be the premier program in country

You must be looking at a different Miss St than I am.
They are 2-3 in the SEC and 14-10 overall. Their losses include Southern Miss, Marist, LA Tech and Morehead State who beat them 13-8. MOREHEAD frickING STATE!!!
MSU has 6 pitchers out for the season. Hell, they're having to use position players on the mound at this point. If they end up above .500 in conference play that would be quite an accomplishment.

The LSU/Miss St series is our final SEC series and we play them in Starkville. A lot can happen before then but right now I like our chances to not get crushed by them.

I agree with you there. I didn't see whoever said we would get crushed by State. That's not very likely.

Name all the other programs winning more. It's as if there's a bunch of coaches out there racking up CWS Championships

All about non conference scheduling. He has 20 wins with his cupcake games, finish .500 in sec and that is a great season for most!!

He won't win another title
He would need a loaded squad of veterans who would blow off his shat and win despite him, like the 09 squad
This guy is Les Miles all over again, just like the 07 NC.
Some need to wake up

LSU is the premier program in college baseball. Like bama in football or UK in basketball. No excuse for not winning more. Smoke got fired and he went to 2 CWS

You had a team coming back with potentially everything you need to make a run in omaha, and you hire a hitting coach who's never coached before at any level?! Real smart Paul!
