I personally saw John Williams driving a new red 5-series BMW on campus. John Williams --- from Crenshaw in south central LA.
I personally saw Stefond Johnson driving a new 280-Z (or whatever it was called back then). He got kicked off the team and then next week, I saw another basketball player driving the exact same car.
I had a close friend who said Don Redden came into the men's clothing store where he worked and charged $700 (a lot of money back in the mid-80s) on a credit card that wasn't his.

And that's only the stuff I personally know about, and I'm a nobody.

This stuff went on all the time, and not just at LSU.
