he's only wrong if you interpret the word 'wiretap' as literally as possible instead of as a general term for surveillance, which is exactly what a 70 year old man would mean when he says it. No they probably did not physically go and attach a wire to his phone and sit in a van outside with a reel to reel smoking cigarettes and eating street meat. They did however conduct surveillance and illegally leak surveillance in violation of the constitutional rights of us citizens
