This is the worst possible time he could be off work though. I was just wondering what kind of time I'm looking at.

Sounds like he needs a raise

I had mine taken out when I was 19.

It ruptured on the way to surgery. I was out about 4 days but because it burst, I had to go back in because I had a fever for 2 days after I left the hospital. I was in the hospital the 2nd time for about a week.

So over all I was not able to do anything for about 3 weeks. Then a slow recovery

Absolutely. If he's that vital that he can't be out more than two days, he needs to get more money. Where he gets more money is flexible, but it's clear he's indispensable to whoever is willing to pay him what he's worth once he recovers.
