Look at buying used. You cam buy a very nice used bike for that budget. People buy $1500 bikes to start with and realize that mountain biking is hard and requires energy, so they only use them a few times and them sell them.

Yep definitely look at Craigslist and let go type stuff. You can pick up $2000 worth of bike for $800 or less. I used to pick bikes up, tune em up and flip a couple a month

raleigh tokul 2. about 850 or so and comes with hydro disks, 120 millimeter front fork, and some other good shite.
