I'm not making an argument for socialism. I'm making an argument that there is no conflict with being wealthy and being socialist.
Fair enough, but that doesn't detract from the point that Bernie pretends to be a little guy and decries the rich.

He was raking in the loot as the Burlington mayor. Then when he served in the House of Reps...making it rain. Come on now.

Yeah. That's how Socialism ends up working. It's the ultimate unequal distributor of wealth. Couple of cats roll nice while everyone else is "equal."
This board is collecting a-hole at a high rate.

I own two houses at 36 and never made six figs so what's the problem?
Sanders has been a senator since 2007 I believe.
Plus he was able to buy the house because his wife had some extra money after flipping a home she inherited from her parents.

Every time someone wants to make an argument for socialism, they invariably talk about one of the Scandinavian countries.
Which they've usually never visited or researched on their own.

Does he hate the rich? Or does he just hate the ones that impede legislation that would benifit the poor more than the wealthy.

It wouldn't trouble me at all if Bernie didn't pretend that he's one of the little people and offended by the rich. He's a classic hypocrite.

Sanders, an outspoken advocate for the working class who spent his 2016 presidential primary campaign railing against income inequality, remains one of the poorer members of Congress, and his net worth is among the lowest in the Senate. His 2014 tax returns revealed that he and Jane made $205,617 that year, the bulk of which came from Sanders’s $174,000 Senate salary.

Only if you're the ruling class.

It's the socialistic programs in our Governent that have us bankrupted. Medicare, Medicaid, Welfare, Social Security, etc.

That's not far different from now. Our leaders are mostly wealthy to super-wealthy. Our President is a billionaire and getting richer everyday. Possibly using executive privilege to better his businesses.

My parents have 4 houses and they are not rich.
My sister-in-law has one house and it is paid four. It's worth at least 1.5 million. She is rich, her and her husband works for the federal government and they are related to aextremely conservative (R) state senator.

So, socialism really doesn't solve inequality. Who would have thought?
Posted on 3/19/17 at 2:19 am to RogerTheShrubber
I doubt any thing actually solves inequality. That's the intent however, I'm sure.
Posted on 3/19/17 at 2:25 am to Celery
Well, it's one of the goals. It turns into an Animal Farm like scenario however.

I love how we pretend that capitalism is perfect and that it doesn't produce a couple fat cats (relative to the rest of the population) who live it up while the rest of us pick up the crumbs. Yea that doesn't happen in a capitalistic environment.

Of course you found a way to blame minorities

Capitalists don't apologize for success. It's a competitive environment, something apparently you're unnacustomed to.

That would clash with their ideology.
