While we're on Star Wars (just talking OT), Darth Vader is the most overrated villain in the history of cinema.
He wasn't even really the bad guy in ANH; Tarkin was the bad guy, and he was way more sinister than Vader was. Vader was basically a glorified lieutenant in that movie.
And in spite of his badassery on ESB, he was completely neutered in RotJ. Seriously, all that "but I MUST obey my master!" BS was ridiculous.

Yeah, especially since he's clearly actively planning to kill and overthrow him in Empire. Seems like he had no reason to stay loyal.
