Hey Pelicans fans, I made a breakdown video looking at how Cousins is fitting in with the offense so far. It's been a bit of a struggle for them but I'm optimistic. Let me know what you think of the offense and thanks for watching.

Solid breakdown man. Thanks for making it and sharing.

Great video.
Some seeds there of sets that can work. Just takes time with Davis/Cousins both used to dominating offense in largely the same spots.
The idea of crashing the offensive glass makes sense to me. The Pels have abandoned it most of the year to focus on transition d.
You think they would need to work out floor balance better...i.e. get Davis/Cousins in corner some more, keep wings/guards above FT line extended to crash glass and maintain transition d integrity?

Nice.
Cousins needs to spend more time in the low post instead of the high post and 3 point line.

Can this be emailed to Gentry?

Good breakdown! Nothing frustrates me more than when there is an opportunity for Boogie to get an offensive rebound and hes drifting back towards half court already...

The play at the 4:08 mark is the same play that you showed earlier with Davis starting in the corner, but Cousins decided to take a detour around Davis, which allowed all of the defenders to recover. Had he come under Davis, he would have had Leonard guarding him while Dedmon has to cover Jrue.

You're on the money about guards needing to get on D for transition D, but they can still do that if 1 is in the corner. I think AD and Boogie should spend more time near the block when the other is going to work. Both like to drive and post up, so when that is going on the other should crash. That still leaves 3 guards to get back on D. It gets tricky when for example Jrue drives and shoots, then one should get back unless they have a great chance at an OREB and/or playing a slow paced team.

Gentry must have watched your breakdown before the game tonight

I think so, but wonder about spacing. Right now they have almost zero shooting, so it's skewed a bit.
And it's tempting to have them clear out of the lane to start a half court possession- with better slashers on reversals/high PnR, the space is there to attack. The trick is moving them back closer to the rim through sound, smart action
Davis probably needs to be more of a roll man/diver than he has been the past few seasons. Go back to shot profile of 2-3 seasons ago w/ a smooth jumper and crashing offensive glass more.
