re: Anyone here have an RV?

growing up we had two. My parents bought them both used. I liked taking the 2-3 week vacations in them. We would go to a destination and stop at every major site in between. I doubt I would have visited random places like Cooperstown, Dodge City or Hannibal had we not had motorhomes.

Both had a chevy 454 carbureted and would always have one breakdown every trip. That was a given. Luckily it was such a common motor that even the worst break down was just a four hour walk in the desert for a Auto store.
Hell the first RV broke down and the glowing exhaust set a fuel line on fire that started a small forest fire in Yellowstone. Fun times.

The last trip I took in the RV was right before the Hurricane we parked it at Mardi Gras. Going to leave the fuel pump went out. I had to wire a jumper to the running lights to get power to the fuel pump. Even on 10 mile trips it would break down.
Still I miss both of them.
