There actually is evidence of this. In a government report of all places. It outlined intelligence and surveillance abuses.
So they've admitted it. At least a small part of it.

I have a problem with them releasing offical government shite.
I do not have a problem with them hacking the dnc, rnc or other NGO's.

Wikileaks doesn't owe any government any sort of loyalty.

WikiLeaks is a whistle blower organization. They don't hack anything, they just publish information from people who do. Not everything they have was "hacked" either. I'm sure plenty of Pols and Government workers use WL to meet an agenda.

It looks like the CIA has infiltrated CTR.

And until someone can give me a plausible explanation for wikileak's hands-off a approach to China and Russia--cause I'm having trouble buying that there's simply nothing out there for them to leak--I don't know what else to say. When a pattern develops in which Americans start getting rolled up and tried based upon illegally obtained information provided by our foreign intelligence agencies, I'll buy the privacy/liberties argument.
I'm two cocktails in, but I'm insulted my posts were ignored by you.
But the government developing and maintaining a capability to collect no more deprives a citizen of his privacy rights than the government developing and maintaining lethal arms deprives him of his life. I mean, we trust the government with Nukes but not infotech.
Rich.

Why are they somehow Wikileaks proof? Are their services now magically impenetrable just as cyber connectivity has made everyone else seemingly more vulnerable?
They obviously aren't impenetrable but I guess I'm just confused as to why you seem to hold Wikileaks responsible for the lack of info about China & Russia. Do you believe Assange receives leaks and info on those 2 countries and purposefully doesn't publish the data? Perhaps those 2 aren't targets of most hackers or they are more effective in keeping leakers in check. Putin certainly isn't afraid to arrest or kill anyone he feels is a political threat.

Look up parallel construction and get back to me.
I have ever no problem with the work the IC itself does. But they're just a pawn in the bigger picture.
What's happening now is that the information and mechanisms to that information are now making their way to law enforcement, when it was never designed to do so. All it would have done is make big brother bigger.
I doubt you see this bigger picture though...

The fact that they can't produce a single thing on major intelligence services and entities outside the US and her allies is awfully curious if you have an ounce of intellectual curiosity or honesty in your body.

Didn't someone mention hypocrisy earlier?

So wikileaks hasn't been hacking Russia or China? Or hackers haven't been hacking them and giving wikileaks information?
Wikileaks has posted stuff provided to them on foreign countries as a point of fact.
And the IC has stipulated to rouge employees spying on American citizens and using the information against American citizens as another point of fact.

quote:Honest question. What do you think the chances are that they'd publish something unflattering about Snowden if our IC leaked it? Or Assange? Or what if someone specifically tasked an asset to give what they had on some Russian interest to Wikileaks instead of passing it in routine channels? Do you think they'd run it? Obviously this is speculative, but we're not in a court of law. I mean we're Scaliamurderpizzagatejadehelmsandyhook.com.

I wouldn't.
The USA is an evil force in the world. It is second only to the Jewish State in that regard.

quote:I find the idea that they've come across nothing of significance pertaining to Russian or Chinese intelligence activities or governmental abuses near impossible to believe. Near impossible. Where were they for Euromaiden? Do they have nothing on Russian activities in Ukraine? Things have leaked out. Why didn't they get any of it? Why didn't anyone go to them. Again, we're not talking proof in a legal sense. We're talking reasonable deduction. Inference.

Ok. So you believe Wikileaks purposely isn't collecting and/or publishing Russian or Chinese info.

The only real threat to our national security is the bumfrickery we are pulling at home and around the world and having the unmitigated gall to bitch and moan when Russia and everyone else do the exact same thing.

Well, wikileak has claimed to have a trove of Russian documents. About 2010. They've also released a lot of IC contractors material. Spydump I think they called it.
But the Russian stuff was never released. There is a list of things wikileaks claims to have that has never been released. It's an interesting read. They've not dumped some items on the US Army as an example citing endangering troops.
You should take a quick peak at their history, I think you'd find it interesting. There was a period of time they were leaking stuff on Kenya of all places on a regular basis.
They have dumped, and according to them, chosen not to dump a lot of interesting things, most of which the average person isn't aware of. Most just hear the stuff that makes news. There is a shite ton more they've done that that.
