History is History. It isn't taught like it once was because there are some that don't want future generations to learn from and understand our past, good or bad. We learn from it good or bad if it is taught objectively and honestly.

Those statues hve zero impact on anyone's life today. this is all pandering by Little Moon the Coon.

The vast majority of residents couldn't name or locate the monuments. About 99%, I'd estimate, never gave a damn about them. Then this pandering mayor, this grown arse man, talked about how he cried every time he drove by them. And even today I'd wager most people couldn't name or locate or care about them. But broke Nola will fix history, dammit.

Gen. Robert E Lee was a great man, and a great American.

Well, except for a couple years there where he led the army that killed 100,000 American soldiers.

But other than that? Yeah, great American.

Made me think of the South Park episode where they changed the flag depicting white men hanging a black guy to one of all different races hanging a black guy

As is your right. I also stand by mine. Considering that he's one of the few men who have led an army into battle against the United States, I don't really think he's statue material. Not for my city at least.

Seems like the democratically elected city council agrees. Will of the people and shite, right?

I have said for a year this was their plan. Replace all emblems and icons of the past and replace them with their leftist/PC symbols and start re-educating the masses. They just admitted it. Part of the overall plan to fundamentally transform this nation. This is part of their overall plan in the Transferring of Power and Wealth.

If Lee is not a great general, I wonder why the US Navy named a nuclear submarine after him?
