what else are we to believe when the team is making no effort, none, to stop this public BS going on at the same time they are hoping to trade cooks?

there are only 2 reasons I can think of to not try and make cooks seem as valuable to the team as can be and that would be if they realty want to keep him but want to use this situation to show him he isn't worth what he thinks he is worth, or they have lost control of the locker room

Well you could believe that those tweets are irrelevant and the trade price of Cooks will be determined by the price of everything everywhere, supply and demand. You have multiple teams interested in Cooks, they aren't changing their bids based on player tweets, they'll change their bids based on the bids of the other teams.
